The Avalanche Warning Service currently has only a small amount of information that has been collected in the field. Evening and first half of night: In some localities wind and new snow above approximately 1800 m. The fresh wind slabs are to be found especially adjacent to ridgelines and in pass areas as well as at high altitudes and in the high Alpine regions. They are mostly small and can be released in isolated cases. These avalanche prone locations are to be found on very steep slopes. Significant decrease in danger of moist snow slides as the temperature drops.

In all aspects snow depths vary greatly above approximately 2200 m, depending on the infuence of the wind. Below approximately 1500 m: No snow is lying on south facing slopes. The snowpack is largely stable. It is not distinctly layered. In particular sunny slopes: As a consequence of highly fluctuating temperatures and solar radiation a crust formed on the surface during the last few days, also above approximately 2300 m. Some gliding avalanches and moist snow slides have been released on very steep sunny slopes.

The avalanche danger will persist.
