The moderate wind will transport the fresh and old snow. Wind slabs are to be found in particular adjacent to ridgelines and in gullies and bowls and generally at high altitudes, caution is to be exercised at transitions from a shallow to a deep snowpack. In particular along the border with France the avalanche prone locations are a little more prevalent. Apart from the danger of being buried, restraint should be exercised in view of the danger of avalanches sweeping people along and giving rise to falls.

10 to 25 cm of snow fell in the last few days above approximately 1300 m. The new snow and wind slabs will be deposited on a weakly bonded old snowpack in particular on shady slopes above approximately 2300 m. In high Alpine regions snow depths vary greatly, depending on the infuence of the wind. Below approximately 2000 m from a snow sport perspective, in most cases insufficient snow is lying.
