Quick report
Surprised to find a decent snowpack on St. Mary's ridgeline with 40 cm of snow on top of the last significant melt/freeze crust. An ECT produced no result but pulling with a shovel sheared easily at the crust. Seemed well-bonded where we were but something to keep an eye on. Near-ground facets showed signs of rounding, still only 4f hardness. Did not have a thermometer with us, but it was 34F at the car (6600ft). Snowpack up to 7000 was mere inches, but the road was covered and skiable. Wet slides along the road but not much snow to carry.
