Quick report
Today we toured into Cascadilla. Skies were mostly overcast until around 1:00 pm when the sun began to come out. Surface conditions were a surface crust at the trailhead, with snow amounts ranging from about 3"-12" above a buried crust once we entered the drainage. On an east facing aspect above 5800' elevation we did not feel a crust beneath the snow. We observed snow that was becoming moist on all aspects we traveled on (N, E, and S) up to our high point at 6500'. Despite the moistening snow, it skied pretty well although it became more challenging as we decreased in elevation. We observed many roller balls at lower elevations near our exit from the drainage around 1:00 pm.
