- Wind Loading, Cracking, Collapsing, Poor Snowpack Structure
Went for a walk in the Guardsman's Pass area. It felt warm in the sun and was heating up some of the directly solar aspects.
The wind made riding conditions fairly poor, with wind scoured or hard windslab/windboard on and around the ridge lines.
When stepping onto low angle north facing slopes that had old snow the collapsing was non-stop with visible cracking.
The skiing was not good with inverted new snow and wind affect. I bet it would have been good in sheltered north facing terrain.
