Quick report
Two skiers skinned up and skied down Center Ridge on the January 24. A pit was dug in 210cm of snow on a 14 degree slope at 2020ft facing SW (212T) in position 60.77883, -149.17921. The upper 80cm of the snow pack seemed well-constructed; fist-hard in the upper 30cm transitioning to 4-finger hardness for the next 30cm and 1-finger in the 20cm below that with a small layer of pencil hardness below that. Below these layers however were layers of only 4-finger hardness. The bottom of this snowpit (about 130cm down) seemed to be made of facets and very weak, testing as 4-finger hardness. Tests yielded CT22 and ECTN27, fracturing about 60cm down during the CT and fracturing discontinuously at 30cm down during the ECT. No red flags were observed.
