Traveled to the top of the Pinnacle and turned around due to visibility and avalanche conditions. Winds were moderate gusting to high out of the west. New snow approximately 6". Very poor visibility above 9000'. Cracking snow on all exposed terrain, intense wind transport, S2 precipitation (interspersed with periods of graupel below 8000') . Wind slabs reactive to touchy below ridge lines.
Avalanche
I triggered several D1 avalanches on north aspects around 9300' that broke within the new snow from 6" to 14" deep', 4F+ hardness, and generally propagated about 75'-100' wide. One was triggered remotely from walking on the ridge above.
