Quick report
Went for a long walk up Sasse Ridge. Started at the snopark with skis on (a few cms packed down by sleds). Light W wind throughout the day. Skies started BKN, transitioning to OVC, and eventually X. S2 snowfall from 12:30 to 13:30. HS as follows: 3200ft - 30cm 5000ft - 80cm 5600 - 100cm Zipper crust to 3600ft, breakable wind/MF crust above that. No avalanches observed outside of old roller balls from warm front passage midweek. Widespread evidence of the E wind event. Dug a West facing pit at 5000ft. No propagation, but produced an ECTN up 30cm, likely on the same 11/10 crust observed at Mission. 73-76cms up, a nasty crust sandwich of pp particles with either faceted or SH grains mixed in. Definitely one to watch. Fairly abysmal skiing, Due south facing wind hammered slopes skiing best as ski supportable chalk.
