Walked from 6,300 to 8,000. Experienced cracking underfoot at all elevations and aspects. Light winds from the west. Mostly sunny when I was out, temps around freezing 8k. 40° at 6k around 3 pm Windslabs on NE, E, SE, E aspects. These windslabs were stiff, sounded hollow undernear and some would collapse across entire slab. 6-8 inches of snow at 6k, 12 inches at 7k, 24-30 inches at 8k. Backed of the highpoint, stayed mellow all day. A truck with chains could drive to the trailhead
