Cold temperatures continue to facet our thin snowpack. The rain crust at lower elevations is breaking down and disapears around 2500 ft. In some exposed windy locations it apears that the cold temps have broken down the rain crust entirely and the  wind has blown it away. Above 2500 ft a heavily wind damaged snowpack exists with many areas stripped to the ground. What snow is left is locked in by a knife hard wind slab with faceted snow below and depth hoar in certain locations at the ground. Two pits, one below 2500 ft where the rain crust was present and one above the rain crust around 3000 ft showed no current signs of instability(ECTX).
