Quick report
Snowmachined to base of Python, hiked established SW facing boot pack, and skied the NW face as a party of 5. Then proceeded to do 2 more runs in the chutes and ridges 1/2 mile northwest of Python on the connected ridgeline. Snow was dry down to 3300'. Low angle slopes of Heavenly plateau / valley were dry, as were the north / northwest tilted chutes of Python and lower Python ridge. Steep slopes with southwest exposure were ice. Python itself skied well. Snow was soft and slightly wind effected, with approx 30cm ski penetration to about 70% down the main gut, where the snow had sluffed down to an icy surface. Snow quality was better 1/2 mile north along the Python ridge, where chutes were less wind effected. Active sun induced wet loose sluffing was not observed by the time we left at 3 PM. No red flags observed throughout the day.
