Snug Harbor/Boulder Creek

We rode from Snug Harbor towards Lost Lake, but didn't go past the Boulder Creek drainage. The snowpack was warm and wet, but the riding was surprisingly good. We dug one pit at 2300' and found a snowpack consisting mostly of melt forms, well on it's transition to a springtime snowpack. 

We noticed recent avalanche activity failing within new and windblown snow- several D2 avalanches 1-2' deep and 100' - 150' wide.  We also saw multiple natural wet loose avalanches release during the time we were out, on steep, rocky, south-facing terrain. The snowpack is heating up quickly. 

We did not get a look in the Sherwood Forest, Martin Creek, Ship Creek, or Lost Lake areas today.

Recent natural avalanche activity from this week's storm. 100-150' wide, 1-2' deep. Estimated size D2 range. We also saw some wet loose activity.
