Followed the East Fork of the Pine up to the Blue Creek Saddle on snowmobiles. We observed two recent natural avalanches up the West Fork of Pine Creek, near Pine Lakes. These two naturals had the characteristics of Persistent Slab avalanches, likely failing during the storm cycle 2/23-2/24.
During our ride, we found the Valentine's Buried Surface Hoar layer on a NE and West aspect around 7,500 feet. On the NE aspect, it was reactive in our snowpack tests. The same layer was found on a West aspect down 2 feet, but wasn't reactive at that location.

Snowpack
We found poor snowpack structure on a NW aspect at 7,500 feet, with the Valentines Buried Surface hoar reactive in two of our Extended Column Tests. ECTP30 down 76cm or 2.5 feet. We found a 1 Finger hard slab above the Buried Surface Hoar.
