Quick report

I observed no obvious signs of instability while out post-holing around on a generally grey day with-in and-out cloud cover, sustained below freezing temperatures, light snow flurries, and increasing SW winds. There was approximately 10cm of recent snow Friday (11/1) evening at 7500’. An additional 10-20cm of snow fell overnight and into Saturday (11/2) morning. Above 9000', I found 30-50cm of snow with small pockets of ~10cm thick 4F+ wind slab along exposed ridgelines. Around 1pm, winds increased from the SW with plenty of snow available for transport. I had the ridge all to myself today and thoroughly enjoyed the walk!
