Left Gully

Arrived in the bowl early morning and immediately got to digging a pit down low. Wind & blowing snow started light & progressively increased to moderate once arriving with a moderate snowfall. Compression Test Moderate. I really wanted to get closer to what we were going to ski. (left gully) & dig a pit on that aspect where the wind had been loading. Arrived at the gully and veered off to the side of the avalanche path to start digging a pit. Got my shovel & probe out set it in the snow & a loud whoomph went off & everything went white. Thankfully we were just out of harms way when things slid. Not positive that the whole path slid from the top. But good chance with all the new snow being transported above a pocket let loose. Refused to go any further. Transitioned & got out of the area. Never ended up digging a second pit. Proceed with caution.
