- <p>The winds have been at work in the mountains. lots of grass and rocks showing through and most ridges have been scoured. Their is some pretty obvious wind loading on leeward slopes.</p>

The storm that rolled through last night was disappointing to say the least. We received a whopping one inch of dense snow with dusting of graupel on top. I also noticed some rime ice on the trees on my way up the laurel highway. The snow from last week has settled out with the warm temperatures over the weekend. I was only sinking down about 10cm into the snow pack while skiing. I found a handful of good turns on prelude and the upper bit of the northwoods, but by the time you get to the bottom its survival turns and stepping over downed logs. Lets hope that the next round of storms lining up for later in the week produce some more snow for us.
