More of the same.  Facet fest below treeline and variable snow surfaces with variable feedback as we gained elevation into the wind-smashed terrain.  Of the handful of small, windloaded features that we targeted, two produced booming collapses and cracks shooting across the entire slab.  Slabs were very hard and, in one feature, up to 3' thick: nothing that I would want to mess with on anything but small test slopes.  There were plenty of wind-eroded options for safer travel, and the sluffing below treeline was an easier problem to manage.  The best quality riding was in wind protected terrain below treeline on sub-30-degree slopes, which hold the entire season's snowpack. 

Triggered two booming collapses and shooting cracks on heavily windloaded rollovers from the margins of the slab where it was thinner. The slabs were pencil hard, ranging from 10" to 36" thick over ~2 mm facets.
