Cathedral Ledge (Base of Goofers Delight)

Quick report

Made our way up to Goofers Delight by way of the Mordor Wall. The approach trail up to the Thin Air Face (N Facing) was pretty loaded but didn't show major signs of instability. Some old sluff debris on top of snow pack that looked pretty old and small, likely from snow on the cliff itself. Booted up through deep snow to about 80ft from the base of Goofers when we saw a crown line (E Facing) approx 1-1.5ft thick and 20ft across that had likely slid yesterday (Feb 16) and was already starting to fill back in. Appeared to have started as a point release higher up in the gully that stepped down to a weak layer. Did a number of hand shear tests, two of which failed while cutting the back side. Decided to bail and headed back down the N Facing trail along the cliff.
