I intentionally triggered a small test slope above this slope which triggered the larger avalanche.
It initially failed on the weak layer visible below the recent wind/snow event and stepped down to the problematic surface hoar layer
This is the deepest, wind loaded part of the crown.
The two weak layers are obvious here.
I also remotely triggered this slide from the ridge further west. Just new snow here.
