Snowpack

Storm totals since Friday were... ~15cm in Elk Basin and Indy Basin. 33cm near the Dyke. Not much for any slab avalanche problems, loose snow avalanches remain the primary avalanche problem. I was traveling on a snowmobile and couldn't really get into the sustained 38-degree steep slopes required for the avalanche problem. The old snow interface primarily consists of very weak facets. Those facets are capped by very thin crusts on some east-facing slopes, to 3cm crusts on a SE-facing slope around 11,600ft. I didn't travel much on due south. West-facing slopes were similar to east-facing slopes in upper Indy basin. Very thin crusts or no crust at all capping those facets.
