Red Flags Comment

Facets still abound in the lower half of the snowpack though the deepest layer is getting moist.

Fairly benign conditions. Shallow powder in shaded, sheltered areas on supportable crust. South facing slopes losing depth rapidly.

Nothing too remarkable about pit minus the fact that there are still obvious weak layers throughout. Development of multiple crusts recently has helped hold pack together. Cutting through crusts for isolation contributed to interesting stability test results.

Expect that conditions at higher elevations are similar with a bit deeper surface layer.

Snowpack

Snow in shaded areas was still fairly dry and light. Anything recently touched by the sun was either crusted over or heavy.
