Quick report

Many hours of extreme winds stripped down the snowpack to a hardened, stable, textured snow surface. Very small areas of wind slabs were visible in the terrain, but they were very isolated in their distribution and drifts of softer snow were stubborn and already very stiff from high wind speeds. 

Plumes of snow were blowing at the ridgelines, but redistributing that snow very low into the forests below most of the east-facing avalanche terrain on Mount Washington and stripping most exposed avalanche terrain of any left over soft snow. 

Upslope snow showers that were forecast today did not occur. 

No signs of instability were observed
