20cm of new, light low density snow in am. Snowing.......I mean absolutely dumping, most of the day....adding an additional 20cm by mid-afternoon. Winds picked up to sustained moderate speeds out of the N/NW by early afternoon and began transporting, slabbing and stiffening up storm snow on open wind-exposed terrain.
Snowpack
Surprisingly, not much instability seen, even very minor sluffing on slopes up to 40*. Pulled out 2 small pockets on steep (~45*) rollovers, with poor compressive support. Both small, with one entraining some new snow below during slide, but still only D-1.5 size slide.
