In the Salmon La Sac, there was a nice breeze. I experienced less wind in the Teanaway. Temperatures steadily rose throughout the day as the sun blazed strong.
Snowpack
I encountered consistent snow coverage at 3800 ft on the Polallie summer ridge trail. The snow was not very supportable, and the post holing quickly turned me around.
From a distance, it is very apparent that the snowpack is rapidly melting on all aspects. Coverage no longer exists in many places where it did last week, and new patches of rock are visible. What was notable was the lack of wet loose avalanches in the terrain. I believe this is because there wasn't very much snow that fell last week over the 3/25 crust. This crust is very thick and robust. It would take significant melt and warming to impact the snowpack within or below the crust.
Avalanche
I observed one small wet loose avalanche on a northerly aspect of Red Mountain. The date of this avalanche is unknown, but it definitely occurred within the last week.
