We found around 10cm of moist and heavy new snow overlying a series of crusts in the upper snowpack at treeline (1600m). The new snow seemed to be bonding well to the crust at treeline. At 1300m, (below treeline) there was only 5cm of new snow and it was dense and wet. The winds hadn't picked up yet so we suspect any lingering wind slabs in the alpine were probably getting old and difficult to trigger.
