Snowpack
Through the road corridor, I observed 2 inches of new snow on top of an isothermal snowpack that measured under 1.5 meters deep. Old snow was punchy and unsupportable, with knee-deep boot penetrations in some areas. Extended column testing gave a result of ECTP28 down 45cm failing on a thin crust. Despite the hard results, there was a notable amount of propagation energy with the failure. Conditions appear to be ripe for continued spring shedding in the form of wet-loose and isolated wet-slab releases in locations where the snowpack has become moist and isothermic.
