Quick report

I did not see any cracking/collapsing or any other signs of instability. New snow depths ranged from approximately 4-20 cm over the rain crust, depending on location in the terrain. Skiing overall was dust on crust, better in the glades and terrible in the trees. The trees need a lot more snow before they will provide good skiing. Light snow was falling all day.

Avalanche

I toured to Todd Ridge/Soda Peak today and kicked off a couple small storm slabs (size 1) while skiing Little AK (N aspect, 6900'). Crown depth was 10-15 cm, a few feet wide (in a narrow terrain feature) and the slab was soft. I wish I had taken a photo, but I didn't think of it in the moment. I was able to easily avoid the debris. It was not enough snow to pull my skis.
