Quick report

We got our first look of the season at the Lynx Creek area. We saw evidence of a widespread cycle from last weekend's storm, as well as more recent wind slab avalanches from the past week. We also got a closer look at the scene of the avalanche accident from Friday. We rode many steep slopes today and were in good company, and we saw no red flags along the way. We dug one snowpit in the main bowl at the back of the Lynx Creek drainage and did not see anything concerning in the snowpack. What we did notice was a ton of glide cracks opening up, with a few recent releases in the Captain's Hook/Captain's Chair area.

Snowpack

We dug one snowpit on a northeast aspect at 2250'. This location had likely seen some winds occasionally, but was as close to a protected slope as you could find at that elevation in that location. We didn't see any concerning layers in the pit. See attached photos for detailed snowpit information.
