Quick report

York creek today provided some very nice views, mild temps with a hint of sunshine, and variable skiing. It was -7 at the truck, and -1 at 2100 m. High cloud cover all day, and moderate winds from the SW were continuing to move snow around in the Alpine and Treeline. The snow surface is highly wind affected. Windward features stripped away to crust, large pockets of snow deposition in the lee features, and sastrugi everywhere else! The access is easy, grooming from Crow Snow Riders is in great shape! Impressive amounts of trail building on the network, thanks team! We saw evidence of some recent natural wind slab avalanches up to size 1.5 in the alpine, these were from ridgetop features lee to the West. We had no results in our snowpack tests, and the snow depth averaged around 150cm. A nice day in the pass!! But challenging and variable skiing to be had.
