Beautiful conditions up in the La Sal mountains today. The storm seems to have brought around 2-3' of medium density POW! My partner and I were one of two groups skiing in the Gold Basin area. We made it to around 10,500 feet before turning back. At that elevation, conditions were very calm and warm. No wind at all and I saw no evidence of wind loading on the surface of the new snow. One red flag we did observe was some collapsing under our feet as we approached the winter sports trailhead on a flat WNW aspect. We did not observe this anywhere else along the Laurel Highway.
