Quick report

Went nordic skiing from Glen Alps to escape the clouds and check the conditions. Crust is NOT ready, but the sun was out at the start. 31F at lot. Clouds and mixed precipitation moved in by 10:30am. While returning along valley floor near the Swiss bridge, noted an avalanche I hadn’t seen while headed out. Took some pics from across the valley with significant propagation across the gully visible, taking snowpack nearly to ground. Stopped by the toe to investigate before returning. Previous tracks skirted the edge and toe suggesting they happened after the slide. Unsure if it was triggering party or other people looking at it. No other red flags while skate skiing, nor the evening before when I was on the other side at Peak 3. Snow pack at toe was wet (could make snowballs) a few inches down at 10:30am suggesting poor or no freeze overnight, although firmer at the valley bottom.
