A naturally occurring avalanche on the Judah ridge, most likely occurring from cornice fall off of the ridge. Most shooting cracks happened around the Ridge at 8,100. Test slopes showed some reactivity to stomping, but some slopes have developing slabs while other slopes have more pronounced slabs. Overall wind slabs on the surface are showing some reactivity in specific areas. More sheltered areas are showing no signs of slabbing around the Judah area.

New snow throughout the day, and moderate winds allowing for good wind transport. New snow will continue to fall throughout the day along with more moderate winds.
Snowpack
New layer of snow about 5-10" down from surface, 10-20" in loaded areas. Over old, well consolidated snow. After a period of warm temps the old snow has become more spring like in conditions and showed signs of freezing up before the new storm blew in. After new snow was deposited on the old snow it formed a descent bond with the old snow on the old/ new snow interface. Wind slab activity was primarily active on a subtle interface within the new snow. This slab was about 3" thick in sheltered areas and as large as 10" on loaded areas.

Naturally occurring cornice fall caused wind slab avalanche. A second, smaller avalanche also occurred on a NW aspect below the ridge in ATL. See the second photo.
