Quick report

Toured up to appx 7400ft in the silver star creek drainage, found three predictable layers of wind affected snow in the upper 75cm of snowpack on numerous hand pits. We reliably found a layer fracturing resistant planar in small informal tests at 100-120 hs that appears to be fracturing on small facets. At 7100ft this layer was found to fracture 125hs ct12 planar. Saw multiple small dry loose avalanches from yesterday’s accumulation none of which was stepping down to this layer, nor did we find it to be reactive on poorly supported test slopes near and above treeline. Some snow was still available for transport but no active loading visualized today.
