Solo tour aiming to head over to Tye Lake. Light flurries, 40 degrees at the pass. Slushy snow below 5000'. Found 1-2 cm fresh snow and cuff high boot penetration on Heather Ridge, as well as some small cracking/slabbing underfoot. Did one turn on a test slope and didn't get anything to slide, but the wet snow and cracking was enough to decide not to push forward into avalanche terrain alone. Enjoyable slush turns on the run out down the road.
