Quick report

Actively snowing all morning, from ~7A when we started to ~10A when we exited. Riding was enjoyable, not hitting the crust in Big Trees. We kept it in Big Trees and did one lap on No Fog; experienced a change in snow density around 10A and that was enough for us to call it a day. Convexities were starting to show more touchiness and it began to feel warmer and wetter. Did not perform any stability tests but a basic hand pit showed still a suspect bond of the new snow to the 3/8 crust.

Avalanche

Around 730A or so a natural came down the Mushroom Couloir. We did not witness but heard it, along with a lot of bombing happening by Alpental Patrol. Saw the debris pile as we skied out. Soft sluff, D1-1.5 slide. Crown depth ~6-7 inches, presumably at the new/old interface of 3/10-3/11.
