Quick report

Another warm day in the Leavitt Lake zone. We experienced firm surface conditions in the morning hours on northerly aspects and soft, punchy snow on upper elevation east facing slopes.

Overnight lows were a bit cooler than previous days and north facing snow surfaces remained more firm than we had expected. Crampons were helpful for ski travel and we encountered some track spinning on north aspects near treeline during the mid morning.  As we moved over to more easterly aspects, snow was soft and unsupportable at times.

We noticed a recent natural cornice triggered wet-loose avalanche NE of Koenig Lake and south of Elevator Shaft. This was D1.5-2 in size and on an ENE aspect around 9800'.

Leavitt Lake road is getting thin and has bare dirt sections.

One natural cornice triggered wet-loose avalanche observed. ENE aspect 9800'
