Snowpack

Spring diurnal conditions on the South and East facing slopes. Previous wet loose avalanches were noted along the east-facing terrain of Taylor, seemingly easily triggered by ski cuts and running on the latest melt-freeze crust - D1 in size.  Cold snow was still along the north half of the compass, some dry loose in steep rocky rollovers in the upper elevations. Snow on the northerlies became damper in nature by 8,400'.  Very light winds with intense solar input made it feel quite hot in the mountains, with temperatures climbing above freezing.
