Quick report

Solar aspects have firm supportable crust, while north faces have a slightly more breakable crust with junk melt forms underneath in some locations (boot pen to knee) Approx 4-6" of new snow in open areas above 4500'. Snow surfaces moistened throughout the day, with periods of graupel and light snow, precip becoming more consistent approx 2pm. Travel through lower forest requires ski crampons. Extensive avy debris made for mediocre skiing, although smooth patches skied acceptably.

Avalanche

Large D1.5-2.5 had previously slid on basically all N and E aspects in KAZ. CT chutes in particular slid extensively. Returning on west aspects at 3pm, we triggered a wide (approx 70 ft) D1 loose wet that entrained all new snow on top of crust and ran with surprising speed.
