Avalanche
Mid-afternoon Friday, I triggered 3 very small, terrain-contained wind slab failures on fairly steep (35-40) N and NE-facing terrain all between 9-9.5K terrain. None propagated or slid very far due to terrain constraints. On the one I triggered entering the basin after exiting Kirkwood, I also felt the collapse and that one may have propagated further if not for two rocks surrounding it. The other two occurred after skinning out of the basin up to about 9600’ above a line I believe is called “Left Pocket” from the north. On my descent approaching the drop-in, I triggered a small slab on a short wind pillow rollover. At the drop-in itself (with a couple prior lines nearby), I noticed a small slab chunks fracture at my feet that also didn’t propagate or slide very far except in combo with some sluff. I also triggered a few harmless dry sluffs in the area and noted a few larger sluffs/point releases from afar on east and west-facing slopes that may have been triggered by adjacent tracks.
