Stability in this particular pit was rather poor. Snow above the PWL is forming a cohesive slab. The PWL still seems to have an inclination to react negatively to the presence of a skier or rider. However the snow surface remains soft and alluring. High quality low angle turns were found on the mid to upper elevation W-N aspects which we visited today. We also observed some small surface hoar crystals on the surface of the new snow.
