Quick report
Went up the North ridge in Marion Drainage and skied the SE face down to the lake. Partly sunny, stayed below freezing with wind as forecasted around 15mph at the ridgeline (6800ft.) Dug a pit at 6500 ft on a SE aspect. Found the faceted layer 55cm down. No propagation or reaction in our extended column test. We were able to shear a slab off the layer of facets after breaking down the column. Saw wind texturing but didn't encounter any shooting cracks or firm slabs until gaining the ridge where we saw small cornices and slabs. Stayed in the trees on the way down, avoiding terrain traps and large open clearings. Snow quality was great and made for a fun day of skiing.
