Quick report

Solid refreeze overnight even below treeline though air temperatures were in the 40s. Solar aspects, even above treeline started softening by 930am or so. A brisk swirling breeze above treeline (enough to transport corn snow grains across the ridgetops) helped keep the snow from getting sloppy even though the sun was bright and air temperature approached 50 F even above 8500'. 30 mph NW winds on the summit of Lassen. Truly excellent corn snow conditions in the SE bowl at 1130am (and I suspect it would have been good at least an hour before, too). Most of the bowl is smooth, with only minor/moderate wind texturing of the snow surfaces up higher. Plenty of wet-loose debris on and above 89 around the Emerald Lake sidehill, but it looks old. No signs of wet-loose in the SE bowl or S face of Lassen. All snow was ski supportable on my tour until I returned to 89 just above Kohm Yah-Mah-Nee around 1pm, where things were starting to get a bit slushy.
