Quick report

I started my ascent at 7400 feet at the base of Angora Peak. At this location I found approximately 120 cm of HS. On the way up around 1030, the NE aspect had gotten enough sun to start the softening process. As I skinned around towards the north aspect, a supportable/breakable crust was present all the way up to the summit. At best this crust was a half inch thick. The snow below the crust  was mostly dry and weak. When I made the summit and got into the sun, the snow was soft on S/SE aspects from 1-3" deep at 8500'. Looking along  Echo Peak ridgeline I could see a few roller balls that fell recently off a cornice across the way, hard to say if it was today or yesterday? The ride down on the South facing Seneca chutes was creamy and smooth. Ski cuts only resulted in small amounts of roller balls that would break apart as they tumbled down slope. Other than that, I didn't see any other signs of instability.
