Stonewall
Quick report
Small point releases on North and East aspects around cliffs. Toured from the Stonewall trailhead over to Copper Creek Bowl to ski east and north facing aspects. Dug a pit at 8,000 feet to investigate crust layers, looking to see if facets had grown. Found one crust layer about 1.5 feet deep, and another crust 6-8 in. below that. Crusts were stout, no faceting at this point, but would keep an eye out for these layers. New snow from Thursday, Friday, and Friday night accumulated to maybe 8 in. Morning sun heated things up, but luckily, clouds rolled in mid-morning and kept things from getting super mushy.
Avalanche
Triggered a small wet slide on a turn on our exit on a south facing aspect. No more than D1 in size. It was the only real avalanche activity we observed all day.
