In lock step with Thursday afternoons heating and first taste of strong spring sun, this piece of snow speaks a couple languages with the same result... a very uniform, buried, and well preserved weak layer (January NSF) capped off with a dense slab (nearly 3" of SWE from 2/11 to 2/20). The result is a wide breaking, connect-the-dots avalanche occurring in an unusual location and very nasty terrain trap (creek bed)
