Quick report
Went to summit of South Sister via the standard climber's route. 4-6" of fresh snow above the crust in most places up to about 8,200' Up top was primarily wind-blown snow and soft rime, with some ice chickenheads. Wind slabs were clearly present, most sat directly on top of the crust while others were on top of softer snow. Observed no cracking or collapsing. Skiing down was quite fun, but got tough down low where the pow was turning into mashed taters in the sun. I expect a melt/freeze crust will form on sun-exposed areas below ~9,000.
Avalanche
Large avalanche debris pile on the W face on Broken Top. It was difficult to tell how large the debris fan really was, which I am guessing is because it probably slid during the last rain event and has been subsequently covered in snow.
