Cold and calm conditions from Summit parking lot all the way up to 9500 ft near Illumination Saddle on Tuesday afternoon. Widespread surface hoar visible near & below treeline, to a lesser extent at higher elevations as well. Observed wind slab & wind-drifted snow as expected, widely distributed beyond typical aspects though not particularly reactive . Increasingly variable snow surfaces with elevation. Did not observe any evidence of slides, but West Crater Rim looked pretty wind-loaded.
