Quick report

Cracking
isolated

I toured north of Bridger this afternoon. There was some cracking in the new snow in both windloaded and protected areas. While skiing an east facing slope at around 8100’, I saw an avalanche likely triggered by a pair of skiers earlier today. The slab was around a ft at the deepest point; this area does not see much wind load. On the crown of the slide, I noticed a thin layer of facets overlying the bed surface. There was some cracking in the new snow in both windloaded and protected areas. Skiing around before the recent snow, I noticed widespread surface hoar on snow that wasn’t skied or in the wind.
