Quick report

Cracking
widespread
Collapsing
widespread

Widespread instability with tree-shaking widespread collapsing occurring frequently, and reoccurring in areas we traveled over multiple days of touring. Propagating cracks, loud whoomphing, and several collapses that took our party for a pant-pooping ride down a few cm into the snowpack. Results of pit tests by our party in several locations (one attached) confirmed instability and snowpack-deep facets. In one pit test, we had several test results where an un-survivable 1m thick consolidated slab containing several ice layers (and branches) broke loose on ECT21-23. We safely skied low-angle terrain in the area for several days with no remote triggering that we were able to observe, but the conditions were spooky.

Avalanche

Observed one R3 / D2 full-depth (bare ground) avalanche on a NE aspect not far from Tornak hut that extended to a prior party's skintrack / snowmobile track Observed other recent (but smaller) avalanches on similar aspects in various areas.
