Day of exploration to see what different aspects look like. Two test slopes were 30° and 33°, North and SE, respectively. First pit was dug at 6900 feet, column test was unresponsive however placing shovel behind column produced a result but not of a cohesive amount of snow to be a slab. Snow depth here was 180cm with a faceted layer at 150cm. Next pit was dug at 6870, column test resulted in ECTP24. The snow here is consolidated into a slab of about 14-16 inches with the first 6 inches being soft snow and the next 10inches being 1F to pencil hard. The layer of failure was also on faceted snow of 1 to 2 inches. Did not ride this aspect as felt it was too cohesive and steep enough to be of concern. Rode S facing mellow ridge to Taylor creek out.
